Can I climb if I have never been rock climbing before? ↓
Yes! Urban Krag welcomes beginners of all skill levels. If you want to start immediately without taking a class, you can buy a Bouldering Pass and climb on the low-height bouldering walls. If you want to climb the high 56-foot top-rope walls, you can pre-register online for a Belay Certification class ($15.00), where staff will teach you how to manage ropes safely.
Are there minimum age requirements to climb? ↓
The minimum age to climb at Urban Krag is 4 years old. Anyone under 18 must have a hard-copy liability waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian. Climbers must be at least 14 years old to take the belay certification class and operate rope belay systems independently.
Do I need to bring my own equipment or partner? ↓
No prior equipment is required—Urban Krag offers rental shoes ($4), harnesses ($3), and chalk bags ($3) at the front desk. While having a partner is helpful for top-rope climbing, you can boulder independently or easily connect with friendly members in the gym community.
